Push-Pull 4B Industrial Control Cable Assembly

The Cablecraft Push-Pull 4B Industrial Control Cable Assembly is a cost-effective mechanical control for transmitting linear motion in both push and pull directions.

Available in multiple sizes and duty levels, the 4B family supports clutch controls, power take-off systems, gear selection, hydraulic valves, accelerator systems, truck crane linkages, and other industrial applications. Custom cable lengths, travel, mounting arrangements, metric or UNF threads, stainless steel end rods, swivel flanges, rod ends, and other fittings can be configured to fit the application.

Description

The Cablecraft Push-Pull 4B Control Cable Assembly provides an economical solution for transferring linear motion from one location to another in both tension and compression.

The innermember uses multi-strand, high-tensile steel cable with an armored overwrap. This armored construction helps prevent the strands from spreading under compression while creating a smoother surface for low-friction sliding movement.

The conduit incorporates a low-friction hard-plastic liner reinforced by high-tensile steel wires. The reinforcement is arranged longitudinally with a gradual spiral around the liner. A black, UV-stabilized polypropylene jacket provides a tough, abrasion-resistant exterior for demanding industrial environments.

The legacy literature identifies a working temperature range of -40°C to 100°C and notes resistance to abrasion and many organic and inorganic substances.

FAQ’s

What is a Push-Pull 4B control cable?

A Push-Pull 4B cable is a flexible mechanical control that transfers linear motion in both tension and compression. It can remotely operate clutches, valves, PTO systems, gear selectors, accelerators, and other mechanical devices.

What sizes are available?

The legacy product family includes 4B30, 4B45, and 4B60 constructions, with M5, M6, M8, and M10 size references. Current availability should be confirmed during quoting.

What travel is available?

Legacy configurations show travel from 1 to 5 inches, or 25 to 125 mm, depending on the selected cable size and mounting arrangement.

Can Cablecraft build a custom cable length?

Yes. Cable length is specified as part of the finished assembly and can be configured to fit the application.

Are metric threads available?

Yes. The product family includes both metric and UNF thread options.

What mounting configurations are available?

Legacy configurations include threaded bulkhead, grooved clamp, dashboard, adjustable block, adjustable flange, swivel flange, and swivel-block mounts.

Are stainless steel components available?

The legacy sheet lists optional stainless steel hardware and stainless steel end rods.

What temperature range can the cable handle?

The published operating temperature range is -40°C to 100°C.

Is the cable resistant to abrasion?

The black UV-stabilized polypropylene jacket is described as tough, hard-wearing, and resistant to abrasion.

What applications use the Push-Pull 4B cable?

Common applications include clutch controls, PTO systems, gear selection, hydraulic valves, accelerator controls, truck crane systems, and industrial control levers.

Can the Push-Pull 4B replace an existing cable?

It may be configured as a replacement candidate when the cable length, travel, load, thread sizes, mounting style, routing, and end fittings are confirmed.

What information is needed for a quote?

Provide the application, push and pull loads, travel, cable length, mounting configurations, threads, end fittings, routing, environment, quantity, and any available drawings or photos.
